Last February Clay and I shot at Chapel Rock in Sedona with Mycah Bain (IG: @mycahbainphoto). We did a styled mock elopement style shoot with two wedding dresses and two satin dresses. Arizona has so much beautiful scenery. The shots we got from the shoot are stunning. Be sure to search for inspiration on Pinterest beforehand.
We did have a short but steep hike to get to the shot location. I thought I would share my advice to help you prepare for photoshoot that my include a hike and some rough terrain.

Here are my top tips for a destination photoshoot:
+ pack hiking shoes then switch into your heels // block heels work best
+ create an outdoor changing station with a tarp, strap, and pop up shower tent
+ hang garment bag on top of your hiking bag to keep clothes wrinkle free // also bring travel size wrinkle release just in case
+ think about how your outfits compliment or compete with the scenery
+ consider weather & time of day, layers are key // this Sedona shoot was at sunrise in February so we needed warm clothes for the hike
+ pack plenty of water & snacks // invest in a hydration pack camelback backpack
+ download AllTrails app & research the photoshoot location in advance. Where’s the closest parking? How busy is the location? Do you have to drive off-road? What’s the hiking distance?
+ the work for the shot is worth it
Comment any tips you would add for photographers and couples!
