After a year of postponed and downsized weddings, the wedding boom is officially here and I’m here for it! I’m sharing the dresses I’ve worn to weddings this year and a round up of my favorite wedding guest dresses this season.
I wore the pink dress above to a wedding recently and it is one of the most comfortable dresses I’ve ever worn. Hot pink is a trending color this season. This dress is super flattering on most body types because of the ruching detail. I’m wearing my normal size four. Definitely recommend this dress! For shoes these comfortable clear strap heels are my favorite for events. The thick heel keeps you from sinking into the ground and clear straps elongate your legs. Win/win!
This fall I attended a beautiful wedding in Nashville, TN at Andrew Jackson’s Hermitage for one of my girlfriends I met through pageants. I was a bridesmaid, and the bride had us choose our own black midi dresses. Black is always timeless, chic, and elegant. I love when brides give their bridesmaids free rein to choose a dress that they feel most comfortable and beautiful wearing.
IMO, this is the dress to wear to a wedding. I’m obsessed with this black dress. The asymmetric design is modern, and the slit elongates your legs without being too flashy for a wedding. This dress is crazy comfortable and fits kind of like Spanx. It’s got a good amount of stretch while being form fitting. I ordered a size four but if you are in between sizes I would size up.
Out of all of the black dresses in the world, two of the other bridesmaids actually picked this exact same dress, so you know it’s good! Plus, you can rewear this dress over and over to almost any cocktail party or formal event. Black dresses never go out of style. The reviews rave about this dress, specifically as ‘the perfect wedding guest dress.’ I also found an exact $30 Amazon dupe of this black dress. I’m sure the quality of the fabric isn’t stellar but it has great reviews and if you are on a budget, this dress would be a great option.

I work for a luxury wedding planning company in Arizona called Imoni Events. Here our wedding season lasts from the end of September to the middle of May. I love seeing what the guests wear to the events and its fun to see what is trending each season. So far I’ve seen a lot of dresses with cool cut outs, one shoulder, one leg side slit, fun tiered ruffles, satin and silk dresses, and velvet dresses as we get into the holiday season.
